Virechanam Virechana therapy is a type of Panchakarma treatment. Here, person is made to undergo controlled purgation for a specific amount of time. It is designed to flush out body toxins. Liver detox, colon detox etc. procedures that are quite famous now-a-days are derivatives of Virechana therapy.Purpose of Virechana- Virechana treatment is targeted to expel increased Pitta Dosha out of the body. When Pitta dosha gets increased, it causes certain types of diseases – such as abscess, liver disorders, gastritis etc. If the extent of Pitta increase is less, then oral medicines can be given to suppress it. But if it has increased to a large extent and if it has moved from its natural place to other places, then it needs to be expelled out of the body. By expelling it out, the disease gets cured, often completely. Since Pitta is situated at the level of intestines, expelling it from the anal route is very easy. Hence, Virechana treatment is designed. To expel it out, first the Pitta Dosha needs to be forcefully brought from the extremities and different organs into the intestines, and then purgation is induced, to expel it out completely. Effect on Tridosha: Virechan treatment is indicated in High Pitta conditions – like skin disorders, blisters, abscess, liver disorders etc. Pitta associated with Kapha, where Pitta is the dominant Dosha, as in certain types of vomiting, acid peptic disorders etc. Pitta associated with Vata, as in case of gout.

If you are familiar with Ayurveda you may have heard of the term Basti. Basti’s literal translation is “bladder”, however, the Basti therapy referred to in Ayurveda is often talking about the application of the herbal enema. As a direct pathway into the colon, the Ayurvedic enema is very powerful for treating a number of issues and ailments, as well as cleansing toxins (ama) from the intestines. Since the colon is the home of Vata dosha, more often than not, Basti is used to treat Vata disorders including constipation, dryness, depletion, insomnia, nervous system disorders, arthritis, osteoporosis, and the like. Although it is considered the main treatment for Vata, different herbs and substances can be utilized to target other doshas and imbalances as well.
Today’s hectic lifestyle, which results in improper diet, producing waste materials not beneficial to the body. They are not properly excreted through the body, resulting in the hazardous accumulation. These can evolve into serious specific diseases, ultimately damaging an individual’s health and wellness. The ancient Indian science of ayurveda mentions certain procedures which help in preventing diseases’rather than curing a person after the diseases have occurred. Panchkarma is a group of five procedures which help to remove the waste material from the body, helping in the elimination of the root cause and resulting in quick control over the diseases. It is a unique, natural, holistic, health-giving series of therapeutic treatments that cleanse the body’s deep tissues of toxins, open the subtle channels, bring life-enhancing energy thereby increasing vitality, inner peace, confidence and well-being. Shodhana treatment aims at removal of the causative factors of somatic and psychosomatic diseases. The process involves internal and external purification.Shodhana therapies expel the aggravated doshas from the body. Panchakarma treatment focuses on metabolic management. It provides needed purificatory effect, besides conferring therapeutic benefits. This treatment is especially helpful in neurological disorders, musculo-skeletal disease conditions, certain vascular or neuro-vascular states, respiratory diseases, metabolic and degenerative disorders. Branches of Panchkarma: Vamana – emetic therapy (supervised vomiting), Virechana – laxatives, Vasti – herbal enema, * Nasya – nasal administration, Rakta Mokshana – blood letting. Pre-Panchakarma procedures (external and internal oleation and induced sweating) .As the dosha are located in remote areas of the body, generally there is no direct outlet for their elimination. Therefore, some preparatory treatments are first induced in order to soften the dosha and move it to either the stomach or the intestine from where the dosha is eliminated using the above-mentioned techniques. The Panchakarma therapeutic process appears quite simple in its application. However, its effects are powerful and effective.
SKIN PIGMENTATION Pigmentation means coloring. Skin pigmentation disorders affect the color of your skin. Your skin gets its color from a pigment called melanin. Special cells in the skin make melanin. When these cells become damaged or unhealthy, it affects melanin production. Some pigmentation disorders affect just patches of skin. Others affect your entire body. If your body makes too much melanin, your skin gets darker. Pregnancy, Addison's disease, and sun exposure all can make your skin darker. If your body makes too little melanin, your skin gets lighter. Vitiligo is a condition that causes patches of light skin. Albinism is a genetic condition affecting a person's skin. A person with albinism may have no color, lighter than normal skin color, or patchy missing skin color. Infections, blisters and burns can also cause lighter skin. We give best ayurvedic skin treatments for pigmentation issues at our clinic with herbal medicines and panchakarma treatments.

SKIN ALLERGY Irritated skin can be caused by a variety of factors. These include immune system disorders, medications and infections. When an allergen is responsible for triggering an immune system response, then it is an allergic skin condition. Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema) Eczema is the most common skin condition, especially in children. It affects one in five infants but only around one in fifty adults. It is now thought to be due to “leakiness” of the skin barrier, which causes it to dry out and become prone to irritation and inflammation by many environmental factors. Also, some people with eczema have a food sensitivity which can make eczema symptoms worse. In about half of patients with severe atopic dermatitis, the disease is due to inheritance of a faulty gene in their skin called filaggrin. Unlike with urticaria (hives), the itch of eczema is not only caused by histamine so anti-histamines may not control the symptoms. Eczema is often linked with asthma,  allergic rhinitis (hay fever) or food allergy. This order of progression is called the atopic march. Allergic Contact Dermatitis Allergic contact dermatitis occurs when your skin comes in direct contact with an allergen. For instance, if you have a nickel allergy and your skin comes in contact with jewelry made with even a very small amount of nickel, you may develop red, bumpy, scaly, itchy or swollen skin at the point of contact. Coming in contact with poison ivy, poison oak and poison sumac can also cause allergic contact dermatitis. The red, itchy rash is caused by an oily coating covering these plants. The allergic reaction can come from actually touching them, or by touching clothing, pets or even gardening tools that have come in contact with the oil. Urticaria (Hives) Hives are an inflammation of the skin triggered when the immune system releases histamine. This causes small blood vessels to leak, which leads to swelling in the skin. Swelling in deep layers of the skin is called angioedema. There are two kinds of urticaria, acute and chronic. Acute urticaria occurs at times after eating a particular food or coming in contact with a particular trigger. It can also be triggered by non-allergic causes such as heat or exercise, as well as medications, foods, insect bites or infections. Chronic urticaria is rarely caused by specific triggers and so allergy tests are usually not helpful. Chronic urticaria can last for many months or years. Although they are often uncomfortable and sometimes painful, hives are not contagious. Angioedema Angioedema is swelling in the deep layers of the skin. It is often seen together with urticaria (hives). Angioedema many times occurs in soft tissues such as the eyelids, mouth or genitals. Angioedema is called "acute" if the condition lasts only a short time such as minutes to hours. Acute angioedema is commonly caused by an allergic reaction to medications or foods. Chronic recurrent angioedema is when the condition returns over a long period of time. It typically does not have an identifiable cause. ALLERGY IN AYURVEDA According to ayurveda allergy is nothing but intolerance or decresed skin immunity, in ayurveda allergy comes from external factor but it can affect one of the individual only if it's overall dosha's are imbalanced, for skin allergy full body detoxification or dosha balance is very important factor and we can achieve it primarily by doing ayurvedic panchakarma therapy, along with ayurvedic medicines described in the ancient literature. At akshay arogyam we treat skin Allergies by scientifically proven ayurvedic treatments for skin developed and described in the charaka samhita and astanag hridayam.
Vamana Vaman is one of the five therapies of panchakarma in Ayurveda. Vaman means therapeutic vomiting which is a medicated emesis. This treatment is done for the aggravated kapha dosha, which dislodges the toxins mainly from the respiratory and gastrointestinal tract. This therapy is also done for preventive & curative purposes. Ayurveda believes that different seasons have a great influence in the aggravation of doshas, ex: Kapha in hemant (spring season), pitta in Sharada(winter)season and vata in greeshma(summers) season. Hence one can adopt Vaman therapy in Spring i.e hemant season as a preventive therapy in order to prevent disorders related to kapha.
Jaundice and Ayurveda Jaundice is a condition where the skin and the whites of the eyes changes to yellow color. Allopathy does not consider it to be a disease but a symptom of liver disorders like liver infection, gallstones and cirrhosis of liver. In Ayurveda, Jaundice is known as Kamala. Causes Increased intake of oily, spicy, sour, salty, alkaline, alcohol, and sesame oil cause Pitta aggravation. The aggravated Pitta then impairs the blood and the muscle tissue of the liver, causing blockage in the channels of the liver and thus Pitta (in the form of bile) is thrown back into the blood leading to discoloration of the eyes and skin. Sleeping in the daytime, excessive physical work, overindulgence in sexual activity, suppressing the natural urges of the body, and psychological factors like lust, fear, anger, and stress can also be causative factors in cases of Jaundice. Symptoms : Drowsiness Weakness Fatigue Yellowish discoloration of the eyes, skin and nail Flatulence Lack of appetite Burning sensation in the body Low-grade fever Indigestion Excessive thirst Loss of libido Ayurvedic Jaundice Treatment Ayurvedic treatment of Jaundice involves balance in body dosha and restoring the function of the liver and increase the flow of bile in the bile duct, by using ayurvedic panchakarma and ayurvedic herbal medicines. Digestion is also restored with the help of a customised diet plan to ensure good metabolism.
