Netra Tarpan ( Eye Rejuvenation)

The phrase Akshitarpana ( also called Netrabasti) is from Sanskrit where Akshi refers to eyes(Netra=eyes) and tarpana stands for nourishment (basti= retaining something inside). This procedure is popularly called as kriyakalpa for eye diseases in Ayurveda. Kriyakalpa literally means treatment. Akshitarpana is an eye care treatment and rejuvenation program in Ayurveda. This is ideally prescribed after a course of a body detox program preferably, Virechana (therapeutic purgation) and a course of Nasyam (nasal instillation of medicated drops).

Ayurvedic Skin Treatments

Beautiful glowing smooth skin is desirable by every woman and appreciated by every man. Genetically, we are wired to be attracted to people with clear skin and a glowing complexion because it's a sign of good health. Ayurveda has some time-proven tricks to make your skin clear, soft, and radiant without spending a fortune or loading up on chemicals. First, let's see why our skin tends to become rough, dry, and irritated during certain seasons and with age. According to Ayurveda, it happens due to the accumulation of Vata in the body. Vata predominates in the Fall and early Winter, and in people over the age of 50. When there is excess Vata, we are prone to dry skin, cracking joints, thinning dry hair, and brittle nails. Vata can also show up in the body earlier if you're really stressed, have a Vata disturbing diet or live in a Vata inducing climate (cold and dry). The secret to staying young is keeping Vata at bay. Here at Akshay Arogyam we treat all skin problems with with self prepared in house medications and authentic ayurvedic panchakarma treatments, along with dietary modifications.

Virechan

Virechana therapy is a type of Panchakarma treatment. Here, person is made to undergo controlled purgation for a specific amount of time. It is designed to flush out body toxins. Liver detox, colon detox etc. procedures that are quite famous now-a-days are derivatives of Virechana therapy.Purpose of Virechana- Virechana treatment is targeted to expel increased Pitta Dosha out of the body. When Pitta dosha gets increased, it causes certain types of diseases – such as abscess, liver disorders, gastritis etc. If the extent of Pitta increase is less, then oral medicines can be given to suppress it. But if it has increased to a large extent and if it has moved from its natural place  to other places, then it needs to be expelled out of the body.  By expelling it out, the disease gets cured, often completely. Since Pitta is situated at the level of intestines, expelling it from the anal route is very easy. Hence, Virechana treatment is designed. To expel it out, first the Pitta Dosha needs to be forcefully brought from the extremities and different organs into the intestines, and then purgation is induced, to expel it out completely.  Effect on Tridosha: Virechan treatment is indicated in High Pitta conditions – like skin disorders, blisters, abscess, liver disorders etc. Pitta associated with Kapha, where Pitta is the dominant Dosha, as in certain types of vomiting, acid peptic disorders etc. Pitta associated with Vata, as in case of gout.

Vamana

Vaman is one of the five therapies of panchakarma in Ayurveda. Vaman means therapeutic vomiting which is a medicated emesis. This treatment is done for the aggravated kapha dosha, which dislodges the toxins mainly from the respiratory and gastrointestinal tract. This therapy is also done for preventive & curative purposes. Ayurveda believes that different seasons have a great influence in the aggravation of doshas, ex: Kapha in hemant (spring season), pitta in Sharada(winter)season and vata in greeshma(summers) season. Hence one can adopt Vaman therapy in Spring i.e hemant season as a preventive therapy in order to prevent disorders related to kapha.

Panchakarma

Today’s hectic lifestyle, which results in improper diet, producing waste materials not beneficial to the body. They are not properly excreted through the body, resulting in the hazardous accumulation. These can evolve into serious specific diseases, ultimately damaging an individual’s health and wellness. The ancient Indian science of ayurveda mentions certain procedures which help in preventing diseases’rather than curing a person after the diseases have occurred. Panchkarma is a group of five procedures which help to remove the waste material from the body, helping in the elimination of the root cause and resulting in quick control over the diseases. It is a unique, natural, holistic, health-giving series of therapeutic treatments that cleanse the body’s deep tissues of toxins, open the subtle channels, bring life-enhancing energy thereby increasing vitality, inner peace, confidence and well-being. Shodhana treatment aims at removal of the causative factors of somatic and psychosomatic diseases. The process involves internal and external purification.Shodhana therapies expel the aggravated doshas from the body. Panchakarma treatment focuses on metabolic management. It provides needed purificatory effect, besides conferring therapeutic benefits. This treatment is especially helpful in neurological disorders, musculo-skeletal disease conditions, certain vascular or neuro-vascular states, respiratory diseases, metabolic and degenerative disorders. Branches of Panchkarma: Vamana – emetic therapy (supervised vomiting),Virechana – laxatives, Vasti – herbal enema,* Nasya – nasal administration,Rakta Mokshana – blood letting. Pre-Panchakarma procedures (external and internal oleation and induced sweating) .As the dosha are located in remote areas of the body, generally there is no direct outlet for their elimination. Therefore, some preparatory treatments are first induced in order to soften the dosha and move it to either the stomach or the intestine from where the dosha is eliminated using the above-mentioned techniques. The Panchakarma therapeutic process appears quite simple in its application. However, its effects are powerful and effective.
